The words for the Prayer Group this week are patience and impatience. Thank you Lynnette for finding the perfect prayer, which also lends itself to the start of our Lenten Season:
Holy God,
You know our hearts better than we know ourselves. You see the places where patience has taken root, and the places where impatience still rules. We confess that we often want quick solutions, immediate comfort, and instant clarity. Forgive us for forgetting that You work deeply, not hastily. In moments of impatience, slow our breathing, quiet our thoughts, and draw our attention back to You. Teach us to recognize impatience not as failure, but as an invitation — an invitation to lean more fully on Your strength instead of our own. Grow in us a patience that reflects Your love: patient enough to listen, patient enough to forgive, patient enough to endure. May our waiting become a holy space where faith deepens and trust is strengthened. We place both our patience and our impatience into Your hands, knowing You can redeem them both. Amen.
