Homecoming and Returning

Here we go! The school year is just around the corner, and I’m back from my various peregrinations. I’m so grateful for the homecoming Sunday celebrations on my first Sunday back—what a delight to get to see so many people and to share food and news after the service.

We had a wonderful vestry meeting last week; because we meet on Zoom each month, I was able to participate from Madison, WI where I was visiting our daughter Beatrice and helping her get ready for her MA exam + for her departure for France. We took a look at the drafts of the different elements of the portfolio needed for the vacancy: the Rector job description, the congregational vitality report, and the report for the Office of Transition Ministry. (So much work! Thank you to all of those who have spent hours this summer getting those ready!) And thank you to those of you who helped out by answering the narrative questions this summer.

We are now working to edit and finalize those documents and are right on track to be able to have final versions approved at our next vestry meeting. The vacancy will be posted once that has happened.

We are all adjusting to the news of Rev. Anna’s shift to her new position at the Diocese. She has been an incredible interim Rector, and we are deeply grateful both that she has been with us for the past year and also that she’ll be continuing with reduced hours through the end of October. Knowing that Rev. Linda will be with us as Deacon through this time is deeply reassuring, and of course JasCiel and I—together with the entire vestry—remain in place!

That’s all for now. Enjoy these last days of summer!

Love & blessings,

Anna (and JasCiel)
