1000 pairs of underwear - Immigrant & Refugee Response

A Thousand Pairs of Underwear!

The Diocesan Refugee Response Team reports that buses full of refugees sent here from border states are arriving in greater numbers. Among the greatest needs of the new arrivals, according to Nancy Stockbridge, Deacon in Charge of the Response Team, is underwear. The Good Shepherd and Transfiguration parishes have concluded that providing underwear would be a very concrete way of respecting the dignity of every human being and caring for (new) members of our community who are vulnerable and marginalized, to quote the Baptismal Covenant and the strategic goals developed by the GSEC Tending our Soil team and adopted by Good Shepherd's Vestry. We believe we can hit 1000 pairs of underwear if everyone picks up a multipack or two. Please keep the undies in the unopened package (just as you would surely prefer to receive them)!
