Take 10 minutes and sit in a comfortable chair.
Breathe in and exhale deeply, paying attention to the motion of your breath. Allow yourself to imagine God's presence surrounding you as you pray. Read slowly the passage below, several times.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff— they comfort me.
Can you remember a time when you were in a dark valley and could not find light? In what ways did you experience comfort? What did that experience teach you about how to comfort others?
Loving God, now we see through a glass darkly. I face darkness in my days and I pray for your comfort and light. Help me to share your light into the darkness of others.
