The registration fee is $100 for new families and $50 for returning families plus one month's tuition, all of which is non-refundable once space has been reserved for your child. The month's tuition is held in escrow to cover the last month's fee. It is non-refundable, nor is it applicable to another month should your child leave the school before the close of the program year. This policy is necessary to enable the preschool to confirm enrollment at the earliest possible date. The registration and release of claims forms should be completed and returned with your check to Good Shepherd Episcopal Preschool. Once the forms and check have been received you will be notified of your child's enrollment.
Tuition is due your child's first day of each month starting in September. The annual activity fee of $50 per child is also due in September. A late fee of $10.00 will be charged after the 10th of each month (excluding September). Tuition and registration fees are established annually and remain constant for the year.
All students are required to be up to date on their immunizations. In the registration packet is a healt form which must be completed by the child's doctor, and by the child's parent. Health forms must be turned in to the preschool before a child begins school. Forms must be dated no earlier than one year prior to a child's starting date. Returning children do not need a new form every year, however any new immunizations should be updated on a child's immunization form.
Children in all classes bring a lunch with a drink every day from home. We encourage parents to pack nutritious food that their children will eat. Please work with your children on how to open the various containers you will use to pack their food.
Parents are asked to bring snack for the class on a rotating basis. On on near your child's birthday, parents are asked to provide a birthday-type snack for the class to share. Please check with your child's teacher on which day your child will celebrate his/her birthday at school, how many children are in the class, and if there are any food allergies.
We use Montgomery County Schools as a guide for bad weather closings or delays. We will be closed if Montgomery County Schools are closed. We open one hour late (at 10:00 a.m.) regardless of the length of the delay announced by the county. School will close at the regular time of 12:30 p.m.
In the event of a serious accident requiring immediate medical attention, the child and a staff person will be transported to the nearest hospital by ambulance and the parents will be notified immediately. In minor accidents occurring during school hours the child's parents or designated individual may be called. It is up to the parent or designated person to decide whether or not to pick up the child. Preschool staff are trained in first aid and CPR.
Occasionally we have a special entertainment day or program. We will announce these in advance. Parents will be informed ahead of time and will be asked to sign a permission form for field trips. Transportation for trips is provided by parents in their own vehicles. Cost of field trips/special events are included in the annual activity fee.
