Good Shepherd Episcopal Preschool is blessed to have a small staff of hard-working, loving, and dedicated teachers. Our small size allows the teachers to take a personal interest in the children and their families. All of our teachers have been with Good Shepherd for many years. One teacher will soon be celebrating her 30th year with the school! Most of our teachers have been with the school since the 1990s. Our teachers are trained in early childhood development and education, as well as being current in first aid, CPR, and emergency preparedness. Teachers are professional and caring. The staff participates in yearly continuing education classes in such topics as curriculum development, communication, social and emotional development of children, and classroom management. We invite our parents to evaluate annually the work of their children's teachers and the school.
Preschool director Mary Lureau has been with Good Shepherd since 1999. Her background is education, with a B.S. from the University of Maryland. She has had over 30 years of experience teaching and directing at the early childhood level.
Prospective parents are invited and encouraged to visit the preschool during the school day (9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) to meet and talk with the director and teachers.
