Events for Lent 2008
- Adult Education: "Forgiveness," a 3-part series. Tuesday evenings from February 12 through 26; includes soup and bread supper (6:45 PM) followed by class (7:15-9 PM). "How Did Jesus' Death Save Us?," Tuesday evenings, March 4 and 11 at the same times.
- Heifer International: Our annual parish collection for hunger relief takes place during Lent. Pick up mite boxes, calendars, and literature about Heifer International at the information table set up by Social Ministries Committee in the Narthex. Consider making a gift to Heifer in memory of, or in honor of, someone special. Ingathering takes place on Palm Sunday.
- Devotional Readings: Available daily on the "Episcopal Cafe" website of the Diocese of Washington.
- Holy Week (March 16-22): Special services on Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday.
- Maundy Thursday (March 20) Supper: Simple meal of soup and bread at 6:30 PM, followed by solemn service at 7:30 PM. No charge for the supper, but bring a grocery bag with enough non-perishable food to serve a complete meal for a family of four -- or donate $20 (suggested) in lieu of groceries at the door.
- Good Friday (March 21): Good Friday Liturgy at 12:00; Stations of the Cross at 1 PM; Private meditation from 2 to 3 PM; Tenebrae "Service of Darkness" at 8 PM.
- Easter Sunday (March 23): Services at 8, 9:15, and 11 AM. Easter egg hunts after all three services.
